The Glory Days

Do you remember your high school days(if your old like me). Sometimes we call those days your glory days because of how we looked or what we did. Some of us looked great, we couldn't keep up with how many people wanted to date us. Some of us were brilliant, we never had to study for anything, but later paid for it in college. Some of us were very athletic, we were in football, soccer, baseball, track, or other sports; we were fit and our metabolism was high. Can anybody relate to this. So many of us sometimes spend hours just reminiscing those times. Every time I look at my prom and high school pictures, I dwell of when I was fit and my metabolism was high. Now at 28, I'm a little overweight and can't run a mile much less 4 or 5 when I was in cross-country in high school. We think our Glory days have passed when we think about those high school times.
There are other Glory days that we dwell upon also; those are when we were on fire for the Lord. Remember those days!! I sometimes look back and say I remember my ol' team. I remember one Encounter of when we just hammered Satan with the power of the Holy Spirit. Or I remembered when I had a normal Cell Group but then the Lord told me to show a preaching of Pastor Joel and that cell meeting I knew the power of God was on us. So many memories of how the Lord worked in Cell, Encounter, Matamoros, and Re-Encounters. Maybe the Lord worked differently in your lives. Those Glory days sometimes make me feel both sad and happy at same time. Now, Now, I'm not trying to be emo but I get sad because I know the Lord is same Yesterday, Today, and Forever. The Lord teaches us that we go from Glory to Glory. I sometimes think that I go from Glory to Mess to Glory and if I'm not careful I go from Glory to Mess to Mess to Mess.
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
"
(2 Cor. 3:18)
When the Bible says "with open face" that means a face that has been unveiled. As we go to Glory to Glory we must have an open face. In other words, in order to go from glory to glory and not to mess we must have an open face. The bible also states that we are "changed into the same image", at first I tried to realize of how we changed so I found that word changed here is the Greek word we get metamorphism from. So its like we change like a caterpillar changes to a butterfly. Although I doubt anybody will change wings on me, the changing occurs when we renew of our minds. The word "change" from this verse and the word "transform" from Rom. 12:3 mean the same thing as the same Greek word are used.
So what I believe is that if you want to go from your current glory to a much higher glory we must have a open face(which I believe is salvation and revelations from the Lord though his Word because the Word of God is a Double-Edged Sword that will tear apart those veils that Satan put so would not see the light of the Gospel). But also when we change by the renewing of our minds is also when we could could go to another higher Glory. This makes sense to me, if anybody wants to post something or say hi, I'm here. I would really appreciate if you could add something to this blog, maybe the Lord is already working with you to change or have an open face. I'm currently in the process of been changed to go to a higher Glory.

Bio

Well for those who don't know me, my name is Javier Hernandez. I'm a happily married Born-again Believer. My life was turned upside down about 5 years ago when I welcomed Jesus Christ in my heart and life. I currently live in Matamoros, Mexico soon to move to Brownsville, Texas. My profession is teaching. Although I enjoy teaching math, my love and calling is teaching the Word of God. I enjoy the look of people's faces when they get excited in applying the Word of God in their lives. I would do my best to impart of what the Lord is teaching me though his Unchanging Word. Although I welcome your comments and opinions, this blog will serve the purpose of what I'm doing for Jesus.
